And Eichmann just had really bad legal representation. All he had to do was deny the whole thing happened.
[Eichmann]: "Trains? There weren't any trains!"
[Gideon Hausner]: "You're saying you didn't coordinate logistics for delivering people to Auschwitz and other camps?"
[Eichmann]: "What camps? I know nothing of trains or camps."
After a long, uncomfortable silence, [Hausner addresses the judges]: "In light of the apparent absence of evidence that any of this happened and the defendant's manfully sincere denial of any wrongdoing, I move to dismiss all charges against Herr Eichmann. And I would like to extend an apology to the defendant on behalf of the state of Israel and of Jews everywhere for this slander against his character."
[Judge Landau]: "So ordered. Herr Eichmann, you are free to return to Argentina with our apologies."
*Ben Gurion bursts into the courtroom, sobbing uncontrollably. He throws his arms around Eichmann's neck and begs his forgiveness. Eichmann magnanimously embraces the Prime Minister as the courtroom erupts in tearful cheers*
