This doesn't seem like a step in the right direction...

Teens should be allowed to view porn.

That's what I think. How to get that balance right I can't say because I'm not a parent. But that's what I would want for my children if I had any.

As for 1988... I was born that year :|

'87 myself.  Seems we're not that far apart lol

It's a crime in the US too.  It's something that should be up to the parents.  Same with alcohol.  I let my kids drink alcohol too.  Wasn't supposed to do that either.  I'd much rather my kids get drunk at a party, then call me to pick them up than for them to drive home drunk.  Teenagers aren't little angels.  They break the fucking law.  My kids knew if they got drunk at a party they wouldn't get in trouble for calling me, so they would always call me.  Because they knew they'd be in much bigger trouble with me if they didn't call, and in no trouble at all if they did.  They didn't even have to call, they just had to tell me "I'm going to a party, there might be drinking, can you pick me up just in case?"

Absolutely.  To a teenager, the whole point of laws is to ignore them, thus asserting yourself as king/queen of your own exciting world.

I find, however, that chains and padlocks work reasonably well in controlling my daughter. . . except for that whole "going to school" thing, where they allow her to interact with other young people.  Scary! Tongue
