RE: Oil in the Gulf of Mexico!
we are very very upset that there is a massive oil leak in the Gulf.

We feel for all the shrimps and fishes. I can see BP's spin machine trying it's best not to let this one be named after their company like Exxon Valdez was...

I have read a couple articles that have surfaced saying the BP's saftey record in the Gulf is less than stellar.

This will be devastating, didn't it pass Valdez in a matter of days? I hear it is quickly approaching Kuwait oil fires as the worst oil disaster ever.

A couple days ago fishermen filed the first of what may be many class action lawsuits.

On another note, did you see how much fun Obama had with Leno while hundreds of thousands of gallons of oil spewed into the ocean?

Can't listen to the oil spill reports without getting teary eyed. I love animals, and this makes me so upset.

as long as the oil spill stays in the golf of Mexico and out of the golf of the United States of America, praise Jeebus. jk.
Procter & Gamble, manufacturer of Dawn dish washing detergent, responded quickly to the oil spill by advertising a 1 dollar donation to helping animal life affected by oil spills with every every purchase. People find money in the darnedest places. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGcZrqP4f98 I like the song, though. I suppose the commercial was not much of a reaction to the more recent event since there are comments that date back two months on the youtube video but I'm sure they are investing more money on having the commercial put up in light of recent events. I guess the only way to find out would be Google Trends... Let me see.

The chemical company I work for makes specialist chemicals for products like these (and hundreds of other chemicals) and going by the sales figures at least we are not making any more money then we were a year ago when the spill didn't happen (I saw the figures of April today). Actually our metalworking fluids made more money than the chemicals that go in detergents.

Well, this is certainly no surprise. Rush Limbaugh has suggested that environmentalists purposely caused the oil leak in the gulf to undermine rising support for off-shore drilling. Really? He thinks environmentalists would cause the worst environmental disaster in years on purpose? I can't believe so many people take this retard seriously.

So the problem is still on going. There is a shit ton of oil under the water that may cause an oxygen dead zone. The gulf has a certain current that will probably take the oil to the Florida Keys and then up the east coast. As the oil continues to damage the Gulf coast with more oil than was ever spilled with the Exxon Valdez disaster, there's an interesting report on what may have caused the spill.

BP has been blaming Transocean, Transocean has blamed Halliburton, but new evidence shows a decision BP made likely lead to the disaster. Informative peice on what happened. This whole thing makes me sick. ):

I rather can't dislike the Exxon Valdez oil spill much any more... because they've given us more money than the spill took away (due to how long it has taken fro them to pay it out).

Hard to say no to a good 1.5 hundred thousand+ USD to your parents (and a good 45+K to several of your siblings (each), though sadly I wasn't born in time to get it too) from the first batch of payments... and further payments since then. Of course... the herring fishery still hasn't really come back... but the salmon are fine now Smile
