No, it's not too bad. It's actually what some games shoot for. It doesn't look as smooth as 60 for sure, but a solid 30 FPS is preferable over a frame that jumps between 60 and 10 when things get busy. I would love for every game to run in 60 FPS, because that makes a big difference to me. Not every developer polishes their game to that point, though, which is a shame.
I always think of 60FPS as about the minimum. I'm used to at least 75+

It runs rather well on my rig, with the occasional dropped frame here and there. I'm on medium settings, since my computer isn't the newest model and my card only a 650TX, but crowds, objects and effects seem to have no effect whatsoever. The Diamond City market is as smooth as the wilderness. Also I've read on several boards that the difference between running on medium or ultra doesn't add that much detail to the visual experience. All in all, I would say it's the most stable Bethesda release I've seen in ages.

Isn't 60 fps the max the human eye can perceive?
EDIT: Nevermind. It can see up to 1000... *sigh*

Are you okay RD? I'm a bit concerned you may be on a bit of a downer? Concerned because I like you.
By the way, by "RD" I mean you, RaphielDrake of course, I don't mean Richard Dawkins.

That makes sense.
There really is no excuse for a game not running at 60fps on the PS4. If MSG V and Star Wars: Battlefront can do it, any game can.
I know they've already got a patch for the PC in beta, so I'm hoping there's one for the PS4 on the horizon.

Ohhh we're talking about consoles.
Now it makes sense.
Even with a shitty computer on Call of Duty 2 years ago, I got at least 75 FPS. And my computer was so shitty I had to run everything on minimum settings and resolution, and I also had to use the Direct X 7 version because the Direct X 9 version wouldn't work.
Yeah, I've had a console recently... they're shit. I should just save up for a better PC.
Even the EMULATIONS of old consoles like sega Genesis, run the games smoother than the originals that often ran at a speed slightly slower than the game creators intended.... so just get a joypad and plug it into your PC and you have a better version than the original classic consoles: PLUS you also have the OPTION of save states AND online play versus others. Yes, streets or rage of street fighter or mortal kombat, etc, over the internet with a friend.

Running on ultra! (Game optimised Nvidia recommended)
It'ok ...have to wait and see... Lots of detail ,,,the water looks photographic...
But I prefer smooth gameplay, so we'll see.
Haven't tried o'clocking the vidcard yet. Maybe tonight before I get stuck into it.

So I'm now playing this game, and I think I was right: it's basically a Fallout 3 DLC with a couple huge new improvements (mods?). That being said, Fallout 3 was freaking awesome, and some of the questlines in FO4 are great. This morning I followed Valentine and Dog Meat to a hidden base, and yesterday I was calling in artillery strikes in front of the castle I just took over. Now, I'm trying to buy all the top-tier shops for Sanctuary Hills. The first, the Weapons Emporium (of course!), gave me some usable new weapons at a great price.
So, yeah. Buggy Bethesda piece of shit that it is, FO4 is still one of the most fun games I've played in a long time.

My current character is a freakin' beast. With armor bonuses and all, I have a strength of 11 and endurance of 10. My heated super-sledge does 230+ ballistic and 60+ energy damage.
I still ran like hell when I saw a glowing deathclaw, though.
