I tried emjay's method of relentlessly repeating to myself, before falling asleep, ' I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming...'. It was a last resort kind of thing but it worked. So thanks so much =)).
I didn't do much though. I was really pshyched to be lucid dreaming and I was pretty relaxed and all but either I can't remember all of it or I didn't engage enough with it and I lost the lucidity. I guess I was a little too serious about it or something. I tried to fly a little, just so I could test it out and then I ran around rooftops a bit to figure out what to do next. That's where I can't remember anything about what happened next - maybe I just woke up. I do remember I had other episodes of dreaming last night where I wasn't lucid, though.
It's crazy how real it feels.
You're welcome If you're interested in learning more about those techniques, I read about them - and a few more - in the book Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming, by Stephen LaBerge Phd.
And congratulations on having what he would call a WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream). That's kind of the holy grail of lucid dreaming for me, and I doubt I could achieve it All mine have been spontaneous or loosely predictable by how I used to sleep. I remember that it always happened more when I was really tired and barely able to keep my eyes open, but I guess at that point you're already half way between waking consciousness and sleep and that would be the ideal time to try and hold onto that lucidity a bit longer whilst the rest of you goes to sleep - I think that would be about the only way I could achieve a WILD.
