Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I feel the same way, and I could hardly be called a bigot.  I married a Catholic after all.

You feel the same way, as in, you don't like Catholic people because they are Catholic? If this were actually true, I don't think you would have married one.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I feel the same way as in I don't care for the pope. That was what Min. was saying when you called him a bigot.

Mine too. I don't think she has even given anything up for Lent in the last two years.

I must have misunderstood. I thought he meant the reason he didn't like him was because he was Catholic. My apologies Min and FNM, carry on.  Shy

Let me be clear.  I do have a problem with anyone who remained a catholic in the aftermath of the scandals which have been exposed.  I suppose you have your reasons.  Otherwise you seem like a nice person.

It is not prejudice.  I am not pre-judging.  I am judging.

The ones who did it are bad enough.  The ones who protected them suck too.

I do not give a flying fuck about catholic "doctrine."  That's just as silly as any other religious crap.  It's the organization and business of catholicism that requires serious sanctions.

That's right.  They're personal values conservatives right up to the point where we actually take care of each other.  Eating with the homeless really crosses a line.
