But people can and have experienced worse side effects that occur from taking hypnotics. I've never had the misfortune of driving, having sex with strangers, or eating an entire pack of raw bacon in a sleep state. A perfectly normal woman I worked with once sent me some crazy, horribly misspelled, rambling texts demanding that I go swimming with her nude at her apartment complex's pool. And to bring the kids. Asked her about it the following day, and she didn't even remember; Ambien.
I have a feeling I shall be in this thread a lot.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I took Ambien on and off in college and law school (basically, during semesters when I couldn't schedule all of my classes to start after noon, it was the only way I could make sure I'd have any sleep at all before, say, an 8:30 or 9am). I only once sent a weird message (to my law school study group), and it was essentially me saying "hey let's get together and study," but it included lots of convoluted wordplay and asinine references to historical figures and such (so, actually, very much like my normal discourse!). The main side effect of Ambien for me was very vivid, memorable dreams. When taking it I would wake up on at least 2/3 of mornings fully remembering a complex dream from the night before.
How will we know, when the morning comes, we are still human? - 2D
Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be. |
