And the Church steals the headlines back

RE: And the Church steals the headlines back
Actually... if the number of sexual abuse cases (that relate to 'children') in the catholic church amounted to 10 a year: I should think that it is not only acceptable: but commendable.

That is downright insignificant... all the more so considering the number of catholic bishops there are ( according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bishop_(Catholic_Church) ) "As of 2009 there were approximately 5,100 bishops total in the Latin and Eastern branches of the Catholic Church.[4]"

If I am thinking this correctly... that would be 1/510 bishops each year. Or ~0.002% catholic bishops each year who sexually abuse 'children'. Those are fucking amazing statistics by my reckoning... to the point one wonders how this is a worldwide discussion point.

Enter the churches' traditional deception Sleepy Only 10 a year? Really now? And precisely how do they expect us to believe them, given how commonly associated catholic bishops are with being pedophiles? Either there is no grain of truth to the matter... or the true statistics are either unknown or are being deliberately hidden from us... and knowing the churches reputation for deception... Sleepy

That's just in Italy, Sae.

And you're right. I don't believe those figures for a moment.
