He who loves God cannot endeavour that God should love him in return - Baruch Spinoza
The fact that you just write off a debate that has extended for centuries with a fiat assertion about philosophy and a positivist dogma about the meaning of truth.

While ignoring that chadwooters doesn't even bother trying to respond to my arguments? Instead you post a masturbation smiley instead of even trying to stand up for philosophy. Philosophy is largely obsolete since the rise of science. 95% of it is mental masturbation that is not grounded in the real world. To do so it would have to obtain and present evidence and then it wouldn't be philosophy, it would be a science. So if you want, continue to to philosophy thinking that it is in anyway useful and makes you seem intelligent.

Have you read those? I didn't care much for the Deliverance, but the Incoherence was pretty good - though kind of difficult at times. Al-Ghazali was definitely a bright fellow, though it's the only philosophy book I've read thus far where the author concludes that his opponents are infidels and hence worthy of death.
