Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

RE: Hello
Cool. I agree, I like Jenny and Hmmm a lot; hope that if you're in their circle, you'll be similar.

I concur with Boru, about not caring what your religion is so much as caring about your humanism.

Because I believe in no heaven or hell, no motives other than human ones, it follows that all evil (not counting natural things, like disease, which are not evil but neutral) and good on this earth is the product of human choices. As such, we humans are responsible for being good to one another, since the selfish/evildoers among us will happily rise up to take what they want and rig the game against the rest. There's something strangely comforting in that, to me. The agency is ours.

As such, regardless of what you end up believing about the nature of the universe (does it REALLY matter, until we have a scientific understanding of it?), what truly matters is how you resolve to treat your fellow human beings, how you choose to define the worth of your fellow human beings. (Possibly more, as we come to understand that sentience may not be limited to humans on this planet.)

So, don't worry about the beliefs. Worry about how humans treat one another. And welcome to the forum. I'm the long-winded one. Big Grin
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
