Part of me thinks it's only a matter of time before we do something catastrophically bad that can't be taken back. And AI features highly on the list of possibilities in my twisted mind.

See, the universe is sexy after all. Even the numbers about its gargantuan size involve a "sex" prefix.

So much more sexy than the whole "God just magiked it into existence, the universe is 4000 years old. Have a cookie. No in fact eat Jesus' body in cracker form.... hey do you realize you just bit his face off? That's our lord... that's our lord's face you bit off".

I think our becoming networked cyborgs is both necessary and to be welcomed, not feared. We will surely go extinct much sooner if we do not embrace that.
