What do you mean?
god speaks directly to me.
I am the chosen one.
I, and I alone, truly understand the mind of infinity!
Damn you for suggesting otherwise!

At a high level it's easy to view Christians in two camps. There are those who are well versed enough in the religion to get the main points and use them as guidelines for their life. Be a good person, don't hurt people, don't steal, be kind to those who need it; that kind of thing to various degrees. These are cultural Christians and make up the majority. But then there are those who truly believe and try to live more or less by the book (the Bible), even though doing so in modern times is incredibly difficult. I call these the nutjobs because they try to do more than just get the point of the Bible, which is to be a good person, and attempt to live in this mystical, fantasy world where crackers and wine actually become bone and blood because some priest says so. Or they really believe they need to be buried facing East so that when the messiah returns they will be facing his resurrection and their own body will be restored. Thankfully, these people are the minority. But amazingly, both sets of people read the same book and get entirely different things from it.
Why is it so?
