The Great Flood

The Great Flood
Let's start with the idea of a global flood a few thousand years ago. Just imagine it. The entire planet under water. As far as land animals are concerned this would have been a mass extinction event. Not only all land based life would perish but all land based plant life as well.

And where does all this water come from? Certainly not the Antarctic or Greenland ice shelf as we know they have been in place for hundreds of thousands of years.

Also, where is the geological evidence for all of this. It would have left 'footprints' everywhere. And yet there is precisely zero.

Then think of the logistics of building a vessel, out of wood, capable of not only withstanding this monumental event but also being able to accommodate a representative of the 1.75 million species of the Earth.

And who built this vessel? A vessel the like of which can only be imagined? Noah and his family?

How did Noah manage to get hold of Kangaroos, Bison, Polar Bears etc. which exist on completely different continents? And what about all the sea creatures? They would have no need for an ark so I presume they were exempt from this wrath were they?

And when the floods reseeded? Where did all the water go and how did Noah get all the species of animal, insect, reptile, bird etc. back to their now decimated home. Even if he could get them all back from where they came from they would have died out in days as there would have been nothing to eat (all vegetation having since died and rotted) unless they eat each other.

Do I really need to go on?

The story of Noah's Ark is one of the most hilarious ever told. The die-hard believers of it are the most ignorant on Earth.

Building the Ark with the technology, man power and resources they have is impossible.

Getting all the animals is impossible

Getting all the parasites, diseases, infections etc is impossible

Getting all these creatures on the ark is impossible

Getting enough water that would cover the entire earth is impossible due to the fact that all the creatures not on the ark would be crushed.

Treking around the waters maintaining every animals and maintainence of the ship with less than a dozen people is impossible.

Getting the creatures off the ship and putting them back into their habitat is impossible.

And those are just the generalistic ones.

How the hell did the Koala walk from Australia, across oceans, and how did it get back again?

How did the fresh water fish survive in the salty water, or, if the sea water was diluted by all the rain, how did the sea water fish survive?

How did an olive tree grow in 7 days in all that silt and mud?

What did they feed the carniverous animals?

After release from the ark, did the carnivors, like lions abstain from eating for a few years until there were more than 2 zebras?

The whole thing is a wonderful childrens's story, but the moment people insist on taking tit literally it becomes a monumental joke.
'How can you say, "We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? Jer 8:8

This video and the links in the sidebar of the video has pretty much all the problems of the great flood.

RE: The Great Flood
I should probably point out that the Bible does say the animals "came to Noah", and most Biblical scholars are pretty certain of that translation. We shouldn't keep making claims that it is "impossible" to get all the creatures, but that it is impossible for all the creatures to make their way to the Ark, given the distances and habitats.

Wouldn't that violate free will?

Actually, if God is all powerful and all knowing why would his only solution be mass genocide and telling someone to build a boat when he could just make one?

God does seem to come up with completely crazy plans that go way over the top.
