This kind of shit makes me really sick.
How is this possible? As far as I'm aware the brain controls the autonomic nervous system, which covers everything from the heart to digestion to the endocrine system. It seems to me that it's physically impossible for a fetus to survive to term without a functioning brain.

It rarely happens & I don't think I'd call it a miracle.

Awesome, make the baby have a life that is no life at all. That's just fucking great. I knew a women who fostered crack babies. One of them was deaf, dumb, blind and in constant pain from withdrawals and it's life was more than this baby will get, if it survives. At least it was able to experience something, even if it was just pain.
As for the article about the little boy who lived for a year without a brain and people calling it a miracle from god; you're right, it's barfworthy. I can't see how people could believe it was god that did that and still 'love' god. It's freaking ridiculous.

@ Pad
The brain is not a single organ, it is composed of several layers that evolution has built up over time.
And it is possible for mutation to cause various bits to be left out, such as these children.
