Since the topic of child porn has come up, how do people feel about simulated child porn; that is, child porn which doesn't actually use any children, but instead uses child-like animations / renderings.

I think that might be a good idea. These people can't control their desires so giving them a controlled version of what they want might be a good solution. Ultimately, it would be nice to be able to remove their desires. There are ethical issues with that too but it's better than throwing them into prison. We do have to protect our kids (As much as I'd like to feed them to ravenous tigers).

There are two problems here, the first as you very well know is I talked about the stigmatisation of the condition itself, not the criminal act. The second is that if you make people feel stigmatised from suffering from a mental health condition, then you create an environment where they don't feel safe to seek professional help. But also, there actually is not a lot that psychiatry can do for people with such libido, besides prescribing medicine to reduce their libido. After all you very well know it's impossible to "cure" homosexuality, and paedophilia and other sexualities are all equally "impossible" to change through medical intervention.

Just because some Danish child porn was legal 4 decades ago, doesn't make abaris's point any less true, nor does your assertion that American porn damages performers make the general creation of child porn somehow less vile.

Well it doesn't, but it wasn't produced in the same way as child abuse material. That is participants were willing. Just like it doesn't change the damaging nature of American porn to performers today. Here's an example:
