The riots are fun, though.

Min, that and 95% of the players that fall to the ground holding their leg to emphasize how bad the other player kicked them...only to find out through instant replay the other player was 6ft or more from them at the time or my favorite, it was the other leg......Tongue
Intelligence is the only true moral guide...

Soccer isn't exciting? Come on! How can games that routinely end in scoreless ties NOT be exciting? And, every once in awhile, you'll get a 1-0 game! And those 2-1 slugfests are riveting!
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

IMO soccer for fans is much better than religion as it does not tell you how to lead your life. Of course it's also about ripping people off - but that's one of the least problematic things of religions.

I am not a fan at all; however I like "fundamentalist soccer fans" much better than fundamentalist religious crackpots.

You've never met the 6:57 crew have you?
If you had you might re-evaluate how harmless football fans are.Wink Shades

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Yeah, that's the most exciting part of the game! There's a good chance you'll see a kicked ball that actually GETS NEAR THE GOAL!

Agreed, I have withnessed people making death threats, and having preconceptions about some other teams fans, not to mention riots. I like soccer, on an amateurish way, to play with friends or in an amateur tournment, then after the match, a nice group dinner, then a bar late night, that is what I like. But the Pro scene disgusts me, players beeing traded like cattle, the rivers of money spent on such a futile thing. All the money spent on pro sports, if it went to Research, to help people overcome famine, to get medication and doctors to needed people, to build and support schools, perhaps this world whould be much better now, -sigh-. Not even mentioning that together with the vatican money! Devil
