RE: Ever Wonder Why,
So christians tell people not to have sex unless it's with their spouse.  This is a very reliable method to prevent AIDS.  Stupid people ignore this sound advice and go out and become infected with AIDS, so this is the fault of the christians who gave them the advice.  Others tell them to use protection if they have sex with strange partners or with anyone.  This method works well, but probably not as well as the other method presuming they are both followed correctly.  Stupid people ignore this advice and get AIDS, so this is the fault of those who gave the advice because they didn't discourage them from having random sex.  In fact, more often than not, they gave them condoms, which would tend to encourage people to go out and have non-marital sex because they feel safe, therefore putting them in greater danger of contracting AIDS.

Here are the sad statistics from the US government concerning HIV cases in the nation.  This is a nation in which "protected sex" is taught continuously including in the schools.  Although gay men should know better than anyone, they still get the overwhelming majority of cases of HIV.  On top of that, the total number of new cases remains constant.  Are they not using protection or is the protection not working?  Who is responsible for all these new cases of HIV - the people who gave them the advice or the individuals who acquired HIV?  And is teaching using "protection" without teaching that absence would work much better causing people to contract AIDS?

HIV cases are on the decline in the US. Only in Gay men have HIV cases not gone down, and that's in large part due to the smaller community of men who are gay (Mostly applying to men, because woman to woman transmission is extremely rare and almost unheard of). This means they have fewer partners to select from. Anal Sex is also far more likely to transmit the disease than vaginal sex. And then you have the issue that many young people go untested. There's sort of a stigma attached to testing for HIV, just as there's some sort of stigma to having HIV.

You are aware that sex is not the only way HIV gets spread, correct? Contact with an infected person's blood or via a blood transfusion, a pregnant and infected mother can pass it on to her unborn child. Yes, those things need to be factored in as well.
