free of religion, free of lies (maybe)
December 3, 2015 at 5:41 am
I recently became an atheist though the seed of doubt was planted few years ago.
And even though I lost my fake friends( it still hurts) I am stronger than ever. I want to say thanks to people like you who are open minded and supportive.
I am 17 yo female ex-muslim atheist. I live in Bahrain. except my ex-friends and a Sikh teacher who from time to time talk about religion and is chill about it ( not when she teaches though, she is strict!). The amount of religion-shoving mum threw at me and that I believed it staggers me, Still new to the whole atheism thing but I am making good steps toward shedding that clingy fear of hellfire that has been drilled to the brains of ex-religions that inolve terrible torture for nonbelievers. Thanks to you guys and I hope to meet you all

Welcome to the board!
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

Welcome! The world needs more ex-muslims.

Welcome!
You're very brave fighting the brainwashing and coming through to reality. You'll find lots of support and understanding here
I'm very sorry you lost some friends. But you're bang on, they were fake friends. Proper friendship doesn't depend on being a cult member.
If you need any help or have questions, please ask, be they relating to atheism, religion or anything else.
Allah isn't going to do shit to you or anyone else, because he's as imaginary as all other cartoon character gods.

Welcome. I'm not super familiar with Bahrain, is it potentially dangerous to be an apostate there?

Hello! Welcome and please be safe.
Though our former religions are worlds apart, I can sympathize with you. I know that feeling. Keep your head up. We'll get over it someday
