Every December it seems the IAA (Israel Antiquities Authority) manages to release some allegedly biblical shit or other to get xtians all wet in the pants. If there is one thing the Jews and Arabs agree on it is the desirability of separating idiot xtian pilgrims from their money.
As Prof. Cargill notes, he is highly suspicious of the timing of the release of this information as the seal was discovered 5 years ago. But then, he looks at the calendar and all becomes clear.
BTW, we have extra-biblical attestation of Hezekiah in Assyrian records... he was a vassal of theirs who rebelled and got his ass kicked in spite of the bullshit story in the OT.
Quote:The main question I’m asking is why now? Why issue a press release now? This seal was discovered in 2010 after wet sifting dirt from the Ophel Excavation in 2009. No one disputes Hezekiah’s historicity, especially given the extra-biblical corroboration in Sennacherib’s Annals. And there are previous known seal impressions with the name of Hezekiah on them. So why again? Why now?
Is it because it is Christmas?
