You get older you start worrying about things like that.

A few years ago one of the house cats got a scratched cornea (from the other cat, of course) and I could tell it was painful, but till I got him to the vet, I couldn't see the damage.  It was gross, but kitty was fine in a week.  The ointment must have been very soothing, cat welcomed its application, thankfully.

Not sure how you would feel about me tackling you and putting cat salve in your eye . . .

Oh and it didn't help I didn't get much sleep the night before. I was tired all day but went to my mom's and after I left decided to go to the smoke shop.

Ok, so I am parked next to the pick up in a very tiny parking lot next to a very busy two lane road in a very small town. I go into the smoke shop, do my business, get back into my van, turn it on and immediately the air conditioner blows ashes into my eye. I had already put the car in reverse but had my foot on the break, but because of the ashes I wasn't paying attention. So I step out of my van and it goes in reverse, I try to pull on the wheel, to pull myself back in, it loops out into the road dragging me, dumb idea, loops back around, pops the curb and hits the front bumper of the empty pick up. Looks like the curb slowed it down only as to cause minor scratches. My bumper had a small golf ball dent, but by the time all the reports were taken, it had popped itself back out. Usually that is very busy street. I am glad nobody got hurt.

This is why I quit smoking.

Why were you smoking in your car, and why didn't you have your seatbelt on before you turned the car on / put it in reverse?

I always have smoked in my vehicle. I had a moment of stupidity. I was tired, been up since 5am and didn't get much sleep anyway. I haven't had any type of moving violation or speeding ticked since 2000. But to be fair, even the best of drivers will have some sort of accident or two within their lifetimes.

Well I hope more cars in the future regardless get made with sensors so that when people get stupid like I did the car stops and the engine cuts off.

Even if I smoked I think I'd stop whilst driving. It's a hot, smoldering, ash producing thing in your mouth. The amount of stuff that could go wrong and affect your concentration is scary.

Smoke could get in your eyes, the embers could fall in your lap, etc.

I hope you seriously consider just waiting until you are at your destination in future. Cars can kill people if you aren't careful with them.

Smoking whilst driving should be banned, IMO.

If somebody is going to do something dangerous in a moving car, it might as well be a BJ.

I know, coming and going don't mix . . .
