RE: NFL 2015 Predictions (Last 4 Weeks)
I'm still sticking with my theist pick with the Yankees, they will win the Superbowl.

That's why they play 'em.

Well, "the" spread depends entirely on who you get it from.

Unless I'm terribly mistaken, they ultimately are derived from how much is bet on one team vs. the other. Given the amount of dead money in sports betting, it really isn't terribly surprising to see "underdogs" beat the "favorites".

If only there were an accurate, objective way to predict games. Tongue

The opening spread is usually pretty accurate. It's after the betting gets going that you start seeing the crazy stuff.

Still, here's to hoping the opening spread is dead wrong this time. Big Grin

When they talk about "the spread" I think either buffet or porn.

Here are the results for the Playoff Pick'em League.

2) Wisdom of the Crowd (20 - 3)
=3) Tiberius (18 - 3)
=3) Brian37 (18 - 5)
5) Cato (13 - 6)

Well done to SnakeOilWarrior!

The "Lucky Pick" Awards

Tiberius for picking the Steelers over the Bengals.

SnakeOilWarrior for picking the Broncos to win the Super Bowl.

The "What were they thinking!?" Awards

Analysis

Every player had a winning record.

Players unanimously picked the Cardinals and Panthers to win their Divisional Round games and they both won. Players also unanimously picked the Panthers to win the Conference Championship and they won.

The Wisdom of the Crowd had a winning record (20 - 3) and only 1 player managed to beat that record.

Now while you can, nor should you outlaw all gambling, I think this shit in America is getting way out of hand. And I agree, this why I don't gamble. If you can afford it, and don't get addicted fine, but I think too many people get caught up in the thrill of it who cant afford it.

Ultimately with everything in life, you can educate yourself on what you are doing, and still fail. In a very literal sense, in a very evolutionary sense, failure is the majority, not the minority. For every human who makes it to birth, there are far more sperm and eggs that do nothing. For every acorn that makes it to become an adult tree there are  thousands more that simply rot.

And for every gambler that hits it big, the majority lose, and that is what makes the gambling industry work. It is also why I hate it when celebrities say "I did it, you can do it too"....... Well sure, you can try, that part is possible, but the higher up you attempt to go the fewer spots there are and the more people there are competing for those top spots.

There are only 53 spots on 32 NFL team, with millions of college players every year trying to take those limited spots. There are local and state politicians looking to move up in both parties, but still only one person ends up taking the Presidency every 4 years.

A bit of an editorial on my part, yes. If it isn't hurting you, sure do it, but know the risks, and know the odds, and don't think bad of yourself if you don't win all the time. I've seen too many people hurt, not just with gambling, but people who hurt themselves over failed marriages, failed jobs, and failed attempts at making it big. I think the best anyone can do is be happy with themselves first. I think that can allow you to go after tings if you want them, but also manage it better when reality hits you in the face.

After seeing the way that defense got after Cam, I'm not thinking that pick was so "lucky" any more. Just not the popular pick.
