Well at least the number 9 is still special. 9 and 3 are the only numbers whose multiples all equal the same. Plus 9 + any nmber (except 0) equals that number.

But that is the pattern with multiplication by 9, all the digits must add up to 9.

Another cool thing about 9: if you're summing numbers and make a transposition error (e.g. enter 1472 when it should have been 1742), the error in the sum will be divisible by 9.
