What happens when its trillions stretched over a vast cosmos?
I'm not sure what you mean by this. What does the value of a human being have to do with resources and population?
Humans *are* a resource.

A resource for what?
Many things?
A resource for whom?

I'm not being bitchy but its really just simpler if I get the wikipedia entry; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_resources
Humans are literally a resource and their value is determined by their expertise, age, physical capabilities, education and the number of people who posses the desired characteristics.
As availability of human resources increases wages and rights will decrease because humans decrease in value. In this event even the rarest of expertise become more readily accessible. Multi-national businesses will literally send a private jet to India and back if it gets them the man for the job if its specialized enough.
What happens when humans spread across the universe? What happens when instead of just one planet full of them we have one hundred? All filled with humans who needs jobs, education, food, water. What is the tangible value of the average human life in such circumstances?
The simplest answer is "less than it is now".

I've heard some people say in the past that we need a big military in case other countries gang up against us. Except that having an overbloated military and an expansionist mindset, is what might cause it.
ISIS might be a part of it too, between Russia and Iran fighting against it, and Turkey fighting against the groups that are fighting ISIS. As far as I know they haven't come out as being on their side, but they're doing more damage to groups fighting ISIS than they are damaging ISIS.
Chances are, we're going to be right in the middle causing WW3. Not preventing it. The military industrial complex would love it if WW3 happened.
Sure as hell doesn't help in the case of Turkey because well they are mostly anti-semitic.
That being said well.. let's just say people in Turkey groups like ISIS would really love Hitler.
Religion isn't really helping issue and its going to be the cause the another world war due to primitive ideologies.
That being said were kinda ISIS ass at the moment Russia doing it's thing dropping bombs along with US dropping bombs
and Paris doing it's thing as well. All in all it doesn't help either with our current military we could kinda cut forces in half
were too bloated.

@ RD
I never sensed any bitchiness, I just think providing that link was very helpful. I've never heard of the concept of Human Resources, thank you RD.

I heard someone at work say that, technically, we are already in World War 3 if you consider the sheer amount of countries who are at war right now.
I don't think of it that way though, since it's an overwhelmingly united war against one common enemy - the Islamists. It doesn't feel so much like WW2, where you had several very powerful countries (namely Germany, Italy and Japan) actively provoking war on the other side.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie

We aren't truly united yet once ISIS does something to fuck with North Korea then we can talk.

I think that, given the nature of humanity and all the possible years we have left on this planet before we go extinct, another world war somewhere along the line is a distinct and probable possibility. You just need the wrong situation with the wrong circumstances and the wrong people in power. I'm not saying that it's bound to happen in my lifetime, but I'm counting on it occurring eventually.

Arguably the wars with Napolean were world wars. They spanned much of the globe and involved many countries.
