Was Hitler a Christian?

RE: Was Hitler a Christian?
A pretty popular biscuit here is the 'ANZAC biscuit'. Basically oatmeal and coconut, sweetened with golden syrup and sugar. Interestingly, it is one of the few biscuits made without dairy, so they keep a long time and travel well.

I'll post a recipe if anyone's interested, which is bound to be a helluva lot more useful than Hitler's religious beliefs.

Cook both in a sweet vinegar vegetable broth with laurel leaves, cloves and allspice and some wine, and serve with potato dumplings. I recommend a cabernet dorsa or a similar dark and intense dry red wine to go with it. Basically the same wines you would combine with game. I just wanted to put that out there, and this thread seemed appropriate.

Note that cabernet dorsa is a misnomer, as it is not directly related to cabernet grapes. This was actually claimed by the creator, but modern genetic testing revealed the true ancestors, Dornfelder and Lemberger. I am not too fond of Dornfelder myself, and think it is a rather uninteresting red wine despite its popularity especially during the 90s, which is however slowly waning.

I like my pumpkins stewed with ham and rum.  Saute a couple chopped medium onions in butter until sweet in a four quart soup pan.  Add inch square chunks of pumpkin a ham bone and water to about four inches past covering.  Cook over medium heat until the pumpkin is soft and tender.  Add two cups chopped ham and two bay leaves.  Continue cooking until pumpkin forms a thick stew.  Add one tablespoon dark rum.  Serve hot.

Do you think Hitler liked pumpkins, or is that just anti-pumpkin propaganda?

Sounds great, mine is just the vegetarian option because meesa no eat no meat Smile

I have no reliable data on whether Hitler liked pumpkin. However, I have the feeling that pumpkin is a very un Nazi like vegetable, and I don't really see Hitler liking it.

Seeing as I have never heard of anzac biscuits let alone ever seen one, I highly doubt it. However, since I don't know what they look like, I might have, unknowingly.

Unknowingly.

Now there's a word you don't hear in the christer orbit.

Or next to a noisy rock crusher either.

Also, if Hitler cared about Jesus so much, where was his evangelization team?

Why did he never make any move to convert non-Christians?

The preponderance of the evidence points the fact that Hitler was a Christian.

He might have thrown in a bit of paganism, but with 36000 Christian sects, it wouldn't be the first time local folklore and traditions were mixed into Christianity.

But not only does the evidence point to Hitler being a Christian, he was a creationist.

“The most marvelous proof of the superiority of Man, which puts man ahead of the animals, is the fact that he understands that there must be a Creator. The fox remains always a fox, the goose remains a goose, and the tiger will retain the character of a tiger”

"For it was by the Will of God that men were made of a certain bodily shape, were given their natures and their faculties”

The "Origin of the Species" and every book on evolutionary biology was banned by Hitler. And his breeding program was based on the soldier breeding programs of ancient Sparta, which he was a big fan, not evolution.

But for argument's sake, lets say he was an atheist masquerading as a Christian. He sure did not have any problems getting the 99% (67% Protestant, 33% Catholic) of the German population, that was Christian at the time, going along with him in the name of their flavor of Christianity.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

He certainly wouldn't like my favorite vegetarian pumpkin stew as it's both Spanish and *gasp* South American: Begin with onions as before.  But add only pumpkin and water until pumpkin is tender.  Then add one cup roasted green chilies and two tablespoons cumin.  Garnish with sour cream and a dollop of green chili sauce.   Chorizo is a good addition, but not, alas, vegetarian.

I'll have to try your recipe.  Tis the the season for warm stick-to-your-ribs food and pumpkin stew is one of the best.
