I just discovered that Balatro is on Game Pass. And it's a deck builder. I love deck builders.

Tonight, after work, a game will bring me to Japan.

I also downloaded SW: Outlaws again, to give it another chance after Shadows.

Time for AC: Shadows.

If I have to compare Shadows to any other previous game in the franchise, it is closer to Odyssey in mechanics. Which should make most players happy since it tends to be their favorite.

Although you briefly play both protagonists at the beginning of the game, it is taking forever to reach the point where you unlock the male.

Yeah, I prefer playing as Yasuke. He is more durable in battle than Naoe.

The one downside is he doesn't have eagle vision like Naoe. But being the powerhouse he is, he doesn't really need it.

There continue to be annoyances no matter who you play. True to the Odyssey way, if you go rushing in Valhalla-style with Yasuke, you're always going to become wanted. Unlike Odyssey, however, you can't just spend money to make it go away. You have to instead rely on the time and resource sensitive upgrading of your hideout. Meaning that you might not always be able to upgrade to remove being wanted.

Which means painstakingly using Naoe to stealth everywhere, spending half a day just to clear a damn castle.

The game has also taken inspiration from the Horizon series to implement Brave Paths.
