Playing a second playthrough of the Atelier Yumia demo. It's making a lot more sense the second time around. The Atelier genre is unlike anything else I've ever played. It's casual and relaxing in a way like many games in the casual genre aren't.

And I loaded up Destiny 2 to see what it's like. It's a twin-stick shooter, which is my worst skill of any because of my handicap. But it seems plenty fun, DLC are cheap, and the base game is free to play, so it's a good opportunity to develop my dual-stick shooting skills.

Rediscovering Slay The Spire. I don't know why it didn't appeal before but does now, but I'm enjoying it. Also loving Atelier Yumia and getting spanked in Silent Hill f. Fuck Sakuko.

Playing a lot of MLB The Show 22. It's a favorite year for the Twins' roster. It's a lot of fun. Some of the likenesses are good, and some, not so much.

In today's baseball game, I was down a run in the 8th. I tied it up in the 8th with a sac-fly ribbie and then I walked it off in the ninth. That was sweet.

I'm decent at the pitching but my batting needs some serious help. I'm always early on the swing. But if I try to hold off, then I swing late.

Playing Atelier Yumia. It took a while with notifications and content loading when I switched from the Demo to the full game, but not too much. It was reasurring to see it all loaded since I bought the Ultimate Edition. I'm looking forward to playing with the various costumes and character customization, but I need to construct a changing room at one of my bases before that gets unlocked. I had a moment of panic when, given the objective of building a base, I arrived at the correct location.... and nothing happened. I thought the game was broken, but I'd forgotten about a set of menus that are triggered by the left bumper. Thank goodness. It's still in the refund window, but I really would be sad to have to return it. I've enjoyed the gameplay of the other Atelier games that I bought, but the polish and gameplay of the Yumia title takes things to a whole other level. It makes the other Atelier games seem like unfinished demos.

And I debated it, but I bought Unicorn Overlord for $20. I thought about waiting and buying it some other time, as it's not really in my budget, but I'm going to have a lot of down time over the next month, and there's a ton to do in that game that's just mostly brainless busy work. Unlike Yumia, there aren't really shortcuts around the complexity, and there is a lot of complexity, but it's a game that I'm happy to play even if I'm not able to put in the time needed for a good level of success at the objectives. I can be sloppy. I suspect that replayability is on the low side with Unicorn Overlord, but since there are a ton of side quests, having to repeat a lot of main content will likely be okay.

Returned Unicorn Overlord. I just couldn't get into it. Maybe some other sale.

Clair Obscur is marked down from $50 to $40. I picked it up for $18 due to a significant Christmas dip. It's included with Game Pass, but regardless I'll have it to play.

I'm on what is basically my second playthrough of Silent Hill f. I was a bit stuck dealing with a boss and decided a second playthrough could help my combat skills. I had an unexpected hard time with one of the early challenges which I didn't expect. Now that I'm through that, it's on to some annoying parts including being bushwhacked from behind by one of my classmates.

Learning a bit more in Atelier Yumia. I was feeling a bit stuck given the person I'm supposed to talk to seems surrounded by impassable mountains, but there are less significant goals to work toward first.
