The job and place I worked at before I hit 12 Steppers was a fucking nightmare. Only good thing is it's a reference point to judge all the others.

Do you like your job and/or career?

I don't like my job much. My career, as a retail manager, has been stalled due to the 08 Crash, and I'm marking time in a night manager position for which I'm very overqualified. I don't know if I want to get back to middle-management (district-manager level), or even if I can, given the big hole the recession put in my resume.

I didn't get the position - it went to a kid right out of college who needed 6 months of training to do the job that I knew backwards and forwards. I actually believed that I was part of that team, that they loved having me there. A member of the hiring committee told me, a few weeks ago, that they didn't want to hire someone who would retire in ten years. If there is some kind of lateral move you can make, either to a related job or within the company, that might be an option. But take it from me, don't quit. Not until you have something better lined up. Not at our age. To address the OP . . . I loved my original career and I love this one. I'll never make much money, though.

On any given day, I have a number of people gunning for me from the moment I set foot in the door; for no reason other than performing the tasks assigned to me, as required.
My job is also high-pressure in that it requires extremely close attention to detail, a ludicrous amount of multi-tasking, and basically impossible time constraints, in a highly distracting environment. I like it, though. 
Still in high school and hating every minute of it.
Can't get a damn job because i have to look after younger siblings whilst everyone else goes out and works and makes money. >:c
Not getting paid for it either! Can't consider it a job, but i do hate it very, very much.

I like running the farm these days, and while I don't really miss the defense contractor stint, it was interesting. I accidentally put a constraint on a space shuttle launch, once.
Odd feeling walking into the department manager's office and informing him the company might be on the evening news. (we weren't, but I didn't know that at the time).
