Personally - I don't understand why anyone uses Instagram for anything, but I'm a relatively old f*ck and I hear kids these days do all sorts of sh*t online, we never used to do, back in the day. Like banking, shopping, begging for money, seeking sexual partners, or expressing themselves in disturbing ways...

It's likely different people find different ways to confront the fact they've been raped. Maybe, for some reason, it makes her feel better and less guilty.

A few. I've never been raped. Have you? I do know people have different ways to cope with rape. And people have different reactions. I was in this lecture at my uni, and we were discussing rape and sexual crimes, and this girl raised her hand and said basically this "I understand how traumatic rape can be, but we need to erase the stereotype that people who are raped are supposed to remain with a huge trauma forever. I was raped and now I'm doing fine and barely experienced any of the issues that are frequently attributed to victims. All of this to say there isn't a perfect victim, or an ideal one, there's people who react differently and have different results and ways of dealing with problems"

Yes I have.

I told my closest 2 friends about it and I kept my mouth shut. I know how someone that has been put in a situation like that would react, it is not by going on instagram and posting pics to get attention and followers. People just keep quiet about it, unless it was a fucking brutal experience. And no, it's not a stereotype that people are traumatized after an experience like this, it's the real fucking truth. I won't believe for a second someone that was raped would be just cool about it. Fuck no. Maybe after 20 years or so.

You decided to get intimate with a drunk person, and are upset that he didn't stop at the point you wanted to stop. Now I know what he did was wrong, but what she did was also wrong. Rape is not ok, but you should also not put yourself in that kind of position if you aren't planning to go all the way. If you don't want to have sex, don't get naked and start kissing someone. especially someone who is drunk.

Now if a woman just happens to be walking down the street in a revealing outfit, and she gets jumped and raped, I put full blame on the rapists. But there's a difference between a poor innocent victim going about their day, and getting raped, and someone who decided she wants to get naked and kiss a drunk guy, and expecting him to know when to stop.

getting run over by a car is a horrible thing, but if you were playing in the street when it happened it's a little bit your fault. Context is important.

If you know someone is drunk and you get naked and take a shower with them and kiss them....that is morally reprehensible....arguably abhorrent in this case IMO. Being labeled a rapist is pretty life ruining, if this story is legit then yes what the guy did was rape and it was wrong and inexcusable, but what she did was also wrong and inexcusable IMO.

Women are not fragile creatures that don't know any better, I don't understand why they always get a pass. Seriously, did you guys even see that youtube video I posted? Some chicks get into a cabby and when he asks for the charge they cry that he raped them and molested them, he was lucky he had the whole incident on tape otherwise his whole life would've been ruined. His marriage would have fallen apart, his children would've been disgusted by him, society would spite him. His whole life would've been turned to complete shit and he'd probably kill himself. But that's probably alright since those ladies didn't know this would've happened to him.

But she may be telling the truth.

And what happens when the Cops at the scene review the tapes and finds that he had not done anything? They let the chicks go free. I don't get it. If he didn't have those tapes his life would've been ruined by their false accusations. But when it was found their accusations were false, they were let go.

I agree with you that it is unjust, and a double-standard,
and those women should absolutely have the book thrown at them

...if for no other reason than that they also undermine the credibility of those women
who have actually been raped...

but the fact, in and of itself, that the cops show a double-standard to women who victimize men,
still is absolutely no justification to assume that the woman in this case, simply must be lying.

Yea yea...I'm a horrible person for judging how she deals with her grief I know. But I can't help it. I want to say "everyone deals with grief differently and that's fine". But my mind refuses. Having been raped myself, this sort of thing seems like sensationalizing rape and it hits a raw nerve for me.

I've been raped too, and I don't like the way she's handling it either. What I have a problem with in this thread is people acting like they know what happened or how anyone reacts to anything. We're all different, and Instagram in and of itself isn't an indicator that she was not in fact raped.

Women do not tempt men into wanting to rape them, that is ridiculous. Women may tempt men into wanting to have sex with them but rape is whole different mindset. Just because your tempted or attracted to something does not give you the right to that thing, if you do not understand that you do not belong in civilized society.

I agree. I didn't mean to imply that it means she's lying. I only meant, rape isn't a fun thing you do on Instagram like posting pics of your lunch.

I know I have no right to tell other people how they should react to being raped. It doesn't stop me feeling like the type of response in the OP is harmful.
