Now they are disregarding the will of white voters! Disregarding the will of any voters is a real big deal and not something to be done lightly. But yeah, the fact that it's white voters sure is ironic. And it adds to their angst. If they're opposing uneducated, ignorant, racist fucks, who is their base? Yeah, they have a BIG problem.

For me, this Trump vs GOP debate seems the best thing happening to American politics in a long time, since even politicians start to think or pinch their noses. Let us hope that happens... such an action would fatally damage his campaign, lacking access to the RNC machine. You have to understand that the GOP does not consider Trump to be a republican. He's a loose cannon with a big mouth who has out maneuvered them with the party base that they worked diligently to build. 1. They will succeed in some sort of "Stop Trump" move at the convention by changing the convention rules so that delegates do not have to vote for Trump on the first ballot. WTF knows what would happen then. The Drumpfucks would lose what is left of their minds. 2. They will fail to change the rules and be stuck with the orange baboon which means that they will be in serious danger of losing control of the senate - a fact which scares the shit out of them because they could not stop President Clinton's appointments. The House is the random element. They have successfully gerrymandered districts across the country but that still requires republicunts to vote and if the Drumpfucks are pissed at the way their hero is being treated who knows what they will do. In the meantime watching them melt down is marvelous. (June 19, 2016 at 4:27 pm)Minimalist Wrote: In the meantime watching them melt down is marvelous. Which could renew the whole system. Even more so, since the Democrats also haven't the most attractive candidate in their arsenal. For an outsider it's a race between disliked and hated. RE: vote Donald trump!?

I agree -- no matter who wins the nomination, the Republicans as a party lose. The split is a brute fact, and not reparable in the short amount of time be for the general election.
I'm thinking this may serve to drag the party a little back towards the center. The republicunts destroyed themselves in 1912 and came back strong enough to cause the Great Depression. Never count a rich cocksucker out.
Yeah, they'll survive, smaller and perhaps more thoughtful for having been chastened ... not that that will matter without campaign finance reform, but hey, a man can dream.
