Greetings, dear. I have socks older than you but that's okay. You are the future and hopefully you'll see the end of jesusism in your lifetime at least as a political force if not a means for the easily deluded to accomplish their goals.
This place is a lot better than religious families.

Hello.
The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

from Kansas City, MO, aka Bible Belt hell.
I was raised Pentecostal. I get you. If you don't want home to be a miserable place, you might need to keep your head down and mouth shut quite a bit - know what I mean?
I'm also a pianist - Mozart is wonderful, but Chopin and Brahms are my favorites. Schubert also has his moments. Mint chocolate ice cream is great. I love to watch Ultimate Frisbee.
Anyway - - welcome to AF!

I am also Canadian, and I also was raised in a devout Christian home, and also first left the church at about 15.
I'm female, and now almost 40.
I am also a Whovian, a fan of Bowie and Mozart;
and when the Goblet of Fire was first released (book, not movie),
I was working in a bookstore and we all dressed as our favourite character....
...despite being female, I went as Severus Snape.
I hope you enjoy your time here, and find it helpful.
Hey, two canadian gals. Why I'll bet you're within four time zones of each other!

I am now out of the closet as an atheist. My family is deeply religious, which makes things difficult. I live with my homophobic and sexist mother. Thankfully, the majority of my friends share my views, and are supportive of me.
Anyways, I like green tea, piano, swimming, Harry Potter, calligraphy, mint chocolate ice cream, reading, and Doctor Who. I don't have a particular genre of music that I enjoy, but I love Mozart and David Bowie. I play Ultimate Frisbee on our school team.
I joined this forum to meet more like-minded people, and I suppose as a way of coping with living with my religious family. Nice to meet you ^^
Welcome. I'm also new and I have a daughter around your age.
