Antitheism
I want to see how many of us here are antitheists. Be sure to research what the word actually means before jumping to conclusions.

RE: Antitheism
This should be fun
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I go back and forth at times. I think I'd be more likely to vote yes than no.

RE: Antitheism
Can someone help me out here... Antitheist just means that I don't want theism to be true, correct? I've seen Hitchens say this a bunch of times (in videos) but I don't think people are on the same page as me.

To describe me change "active" to "reactive". I don't fit the definition so not an anti-theist.

I sure that you'll correct me on what anti-theist "actually means".

You cannot be reactive without being active. The two are not mutually exclusive, as you seem to think. You can however be active without being reactive, that much is true, but I think we will agree that an antitheist will never be anything but reactive, given the fact that religion always comes before antitheism.

So I would actually agree that an antitheist would be better described as reactive than active(so as to not create confusions of the sort). Where does that leave us? I'm an antitheist but you're not, despite us both being reactionary regarding religion/theism?

RE: Antitheism
Atheist = "I don't believe in God."

Anti Theist = "I don't believe in God and I hate the thought of anyone else believing it."

....Is this accurate?

Just as predicted. Talk to Wiki, have the definition changed, then get back to me.
