You ignored what I said and started talking about teachers. You're claiming it wasn't a strawman, but I'm sorry buddy, it was. You're just not willing to admit it, that's all.

I'd give you a leg to stand on if I had three.

I think anyone who wants a gun should get one, provided they are shown to be mentally healthy and that they receive constant training and evaluation for it. But I don't think people who don't work in the security sphere or as policemen or what have you should be forced to carry fire weapons.

Ohio has a program going to get teachers armed in the classroom.

Paid attention to some of these teachers lately?

You know, they don't exactly get the cream of the crop going into that field anymore.

You realize of course that they already shoot the teacher.

In actuality, it is more likely that the lunatic shooter will pick a different location to shoot people. The cowards target places that will give them little resistance.

The Live Free Or Die! State (NH) has a 2014 murder rate of 223.2/100,000 residents.

Neighboring MA is one of the most heavily gun-regulated States in the Union, with 406.4 murders/100,000 residents.

Texas is notoriously lessaiz - faire on guns, and its murder rate of 410.3/100,000 residents isn't much better than MA.

Therefore, the effectiveness of gun regulations in reducing murder rates is zero sum, and accidental gun deaths are negligible to warrent any legal measure beyond safe storage and mandated training.

Concealed carry permit holders are being allowed to do precisely what their permits imply.  Conceal and carry a handgun.   Even so, they are not allowing guns in "exclusion areas"...places where they feel a special danger exists.  Clinics, labs, dorms-still a no go for whatever fraction of students over 21 hold a permit and wish to bring a gun to class.  It's a dumb idea, but it's not the dumb idea that people think it is, nor was it the university's.

We need more guns. We have too many people as it is. A little extra space wouldn't hurt. And, after all, it would probably be nobody you knew.
