I answer one at a time from first to last.
RE: Transexuals
This is also quickly turning into "any kind of mental illness = mentally incompetent". Should all people with a mental health diagnosis be kept out of the bathroom for the safety of themselves and others? Should they all be kept from making public policy? Should I be allowed to be around kids (or in charge of my own kids) with a depression diagnosis in my past?

Even if transgender people technically have a mental illness, that doesn't mean they are incapable of making their own decisions. It doesn't make them dangerous. It doesn't mean they should be marginalized. It doesn't mean we should keep them out of power.

The implications here make me, frankly, sick.

That's because for you it is a no win situation, but is the whole point of this thread. If GID fits a medical diagnosis of mental illness then why are the mentally Ill allowed to change the laws?

Lol, I'll get the latex gloves!

I addressed this a page or so back. I don't think you've gotten to it yet, or you chose not to respond.

And none of this being discussed is an illness anyway.

No mentally Ill people by clinical definition have a impediment in how they think and or interact with others. Therefore why are they/specific GID people in a position to dictate law to rest of the 99% of society?

At what point in the OP did I EVER infer one needed to be or had to be 'cured?'

Again, you've over stepped in your assessment.

I simply asked a question one that you seem to be trying to red herring away with a strawman.

When did management ever include enabling?

At what point in the OP did I ever say I was not comfortable with transexual progressing into anything?
I simply asked a question.

Again treatment was never on the table for discussion. Just the identification of GID as a legit mental disorder, and if GID is a legit disorder then again why are the mentally ill setting policy for society?

nuupe I don't care what transsexual will or will not do. This discussion is not about how they live their lives. I honestly do not care what people do to themselves or how they want to live so long as it does not infringe on those who want nothing to do with their brand of crazy.

So...then what is the point of your post exactly?  You have no position at all?  I'm now completely at a loss for what the hell you are even saying other then, "ew, yucky."

At this point all I've done is ask a question, based on a clinically observed definition. Should mentally Ill people set policy for 99% of everyone else in society?

Yes, Drich has zero capacity for nuance. It's disgusting, and really sad.

nuupe. I'm asking if Mentally ill people should be allowed to set policy/Make laws.
in short
In your insane P/C world have are you so worried about what others think, that you would allow someone with a legit mental disorder make the rules for the rest of society?
