The weirdest thing Kiwis do is put beetroot on burgers!

Kumara (sweet potatoes)

Beetroot? You're not an Aussie if you don't have beetroot on a hamburger! Tongue

One slice, MAYBE (though I HATE beetroot).  But some Kiwi burger places lay on three thick slices!

I am just an hour and a half west of there and twice a year I make the pilgrimage to Philly just so I can sink my teeth into one of those babies. Oh the joy of a mouthful of steak, cheese and fried onions!

There is Captain Harvey's down in Dundalk, Maryland, and while they do an awesome job, one from Philly is simply amazing.

The last time I was in Philly the locals took us across the river to some place in New Jersey for cheese steak.

I live in Iowa.

Multiculturalism here is snagging some Kansas City style barbecue sauce at WalMart.

There are few (if any) truly unique American Foods. Mainly what we do is take cuisine from other places, Americanize it (make it rather bland), over salt it, mass produce it and freeze it and sell it at Walmart in humongous packages.

Authentic anything is hard to find in the states. You usually have to find local mom 'n' pop joints or hole-in-the-wall, greasy spoons to find the good stuff.

Corn Bread. If you put sugar in it you're making corn cake.

Fruit cobblers were first made in North American. I like cuppa cuppa cuppa peach cobbler.

In Britain, we have a mix of basically everything. Curries, sushi, "American food"...you name it.

No to beetroot on burgers. Just no. No to that

Actually just no to beets at all. They're gross. Yes in America we just say beets not beetroot. Murica
