I have absolutely zero interest in touching a male (other than a friendly hug or handshake). I'm not trying to be macho, you guys know that's not my style Tongue Just stating it like it is.

And you're right, attraction is way beyond just sexual. I find women attractive in a multitude of ways, down to the tiniest detail. None of that is replicated for men, at all. Women just make me feel differently, and I see them differently. I think about possible shared experiences and fantasies (only some of which are sexual) without even making the effort, they just pop into my head. But this never happens regarding men.

Seems like we have that in common Tongue

(IANMTU) Just realized one of the local women folk here is trying to attract my attention, poor thing.

Had another call from her about her AV receiver not working, and I finally took a minute to check on it.

Unplugged.

Again.

She blamed the dog, at the time didn't give it a second thought.  Going through this thread reminded me due to my brazen fixation with men and masculinity women really have to put some effort into impinging on my awareness if that's what they want.

Jeesh, she probably thinks I'm a homo . . .

Oh, wait a minute . . . . . .

What's funny is that from the first three sources pool referenced in that long ass OP quote, we can see that:

Females are three times as likely to attempt suicide than males.
That, proportionally, a far higher percentage of women have died in combat than men.
That 28% of women workplace deaths are homicides compared to just 9% for men.

I haven't gone through the rest, but, yeah... pretty fucking hilarious.

Quote:Men's issues are never discussed because most feminists view the problems faced by men as unimportant because they view men as "privileged". That is why there are things like the missing and murdered aboriginal women hysteria while 3/4 of murdered aboriginals are actually male according to RCMP stats. That's why there was a bring back our girls campaign all over the media for the Nigerian students while everyone ignored the fact that every single male student was slaughtered at that school, as well as in the surrounding schools, as is been happening for YEARS.

It seems like a legitimate thing to discuss except your thread title is just so damn pool-like that I can't even take the OP seriously

My criticism was entirely based on you cherry picking numbers without consideration for context.  You were so busy trying to turn the tables on those dastardly feminists that you employed the same faulty tactic some of them employ.

Regarding the issue at hand, males have traditionally held the power in society.  They get more recognition, they get more money, they wield more influence, and they've created institutions (social and political) to enshrine themselves at the top of the hierarchy.

Now, these institutions have been slowly whittled away by feminists and their allies, and that's a good thing.  But there's still work to be done.

None of this, however, denies that, yes, men also face their share of problems, and that, yes, they're important and damaging.  The key difference, however, is that those issues, outside of, perhaps, divorce rulings, aren't institutionalized.  Or if they are, they're self-inflicted (see: Nigerian militants slaughtering male students due to the threat to savage patriarchal power they represent).

Also, I can't help but wonder if men's issues are ignored in favor of women's issues because men are seen as privileged, or because women are considered weak/fragile, and therefore it's a bigger atrocity in the eyes of a patriarchal society when they're harmed.  The whole "fairer sex" BS.

Ultimately, to me, it's a complex set of issues, ones that I don't have all the answers for.  All I know is that I try to treat people fairly.

You're a complete idiot if you honestly believe that. All I read was the same "secret oppressor oppressing us" not because of facts and figures but because we feeeeel like that. Look at the societal construct and tell me your society isn't sexist against men,I dare you, I double dare you. Despite being sexist against men to help women rise up (what kind of logic is that?) men still dominate. What does that tell you?
And if you wanna talk women in power, let's talk about Yahoo's CEO, shall we?

Edit(more to add): I'll admit it the society is not fair. It's sexist against men,I have facts and figures you have feeeeels. Admit it, you live in a society that more than equal favors women and STILL they manage to fuck up.,its called incompetence not oppression. It's not because women can't, it's simply because they don't want to (the majority of them anyway).

Edit 2: If you wanna talk more about woman in power let's talk about HPs woman CEO Carly Fiorina shall we?
Maybe I'm seeing a pattern here.

Really, two female CEOs, both of whom have only crippled their companies, is your response? As though the exceptions disprove the rule?

But, please, regale us with your numbers. Maybe you won't embarrass yourself with how you cherry pick them this time.

You know what a lot of people don't get about custody? Most of the fucking time, the father doesn't want a god damn thing to do with their kids, or they aren't willing to fight for custody. Most custody agreements are made WITHOUT court interference. This is of course NEVER mentioned.
