"Men's rights activists are pig misogynists, men don't have issues!"
RE: "Men's rights activists are pig misogynists, men don't have issues!"
There are legitimate men's issues and there are legitimate women's issues. I don't think any reasonable people will really argue against that. But the thing about the internet is that the loudest, most abrasive voices in a group tend to draw the most attention to themselves. The end result is that we all see MRA's as a bunch of neckbearded misogynists and we all see feminists as a bunch of shrill, man-hating harpies. The reality of things is that most people are neither of those extremes, but nuance doesn't work in a culture that only wants to pay attention to quick, 20-second sound bytes or messages that can be summed up in a quick meme.

I agree, our species, on just about every issue under the sun suffers far too much binary either/or thinking, and reality is much more messy than that.

i can say this and not be wrong.. biased double standard in other countries if a man was abused raped or even assaulted
its no laughing matter and is treated like a crime here on the other hand its treated like a joke and not taken seriously if a man
was to get abused in public by his or her own wife or girlfriend even a ex cheerleader had sexual relations with a teen and got
off with a smack on the wrists. I can say that because its true we have a biased double standard

That's not the only one. There are biases and double standards going both ways. No one denies that. To say that men are oppressed is complete lunacy. Honestly, while I do think there are more biases against women than men, to say that women are oppressed (in America) is complete lunacy as well.

No one denies that men are also victims of sexism (well maybe some people but they're morons), but we want to have real discussions about it. We don't want to be given a list that has clearly not been researched or even thought through for that matter. More importantly, we don't want to be told what we think by anyone, especially not someone who doesn't have a clue what we think.

The obvious should be pointed out sadly it isn't there is issues on both sides one being that republicans are making it harder for woman and reproductive rights.
Both sides have their legitimate issues and should be pointed out.

The thing is, though, that comes from centuries of indoctrination of men thinking they need to "man up", not from women making a joke out of it. This is men oppressing themselves, where historical oppression of women mostly comes from misogyny, IMO.

You're exactly right there, Empress. When men are treated unfairly it comes about due to the sexism against women.

You're a feminist, aren't you? Have you not heard of the "patriarchy"?
The whole notion of feminism is that females are oppressed by the "patriarchy" and that they must fight to achieve equality..... in a free country.

Lastly, I don't really care about MRA's or Feminists anymore.
Because frankly it doesn't affect me.
Whether there are issues for men or oppressed women, I will still get up in the morning, I will spend time with
my family, work on my career, work on my physique, spend time with feminine women,go out on dates and generally have a happy day and sleep tight.

I have far less free time to be spending on activist groups,it hinders my personal growth, so nada.
Although, this doesn't mean that i won't post the occasional thread mocking idiotic activist movements, it's funn. :')
