He sure got screwed, no presidential library, not much of nothing really.  Still, his presidency could be counted as quite a success by modern standards;

no scandals

didn't run up the national debt

didn't start any wars

no squabbles with congress

no lame appointments to the supreme court

never raised taxes

didn't increase the number of federal employees



Cruz didn't have a chance of being Atchison's equal
 The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
