Good day to you all! We are enjoying some beautiful weather down south. Looks like it will be time to break out the zero turn and cut grass. I haven't bought headphones since my Sony Walkman in the 80's. Was hoping to pick up some noise cancelling headphones to wear while cutting grass. Anyone have any experience with what works well and suggestions on what to buy for this application? My budget is anything under $200, but I am most concerned with clarity and the ability to drown out the engine noise. Thank you all in advance for the help!

Sorry, while I'm a bit of an audio enthusiast, I have next to no experience with noise cancelling headphones. I'm sure someone here will..

I do not know how loud your mower is, but a good set of "real" headphones should work ok. A decent set of noise-cancelling headphones will set you back 300-500 dollars. If I were to go that route, I would probably choose the Bose. Then there is the question of wired or bluetooth. Most all of the bluetooth stuff I have ever worked with have too many quirks and the range sucks. (but I guess one could say the range of wired sucks too.)
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

I was also about to recommend Bose as many pilots use them....
Not sure of the price though.

IANMTU, In 1957 Arthur Clarke penned a short sci-fi story, Silence Please, in which the protagonist, (Fenton) came up with a device (the infamous Fenton Silencer) that used a mic and a special inverting amplifier coupled to speakers to produce silence over a wide area. Clarke realized such a wide area device is impossible, but exactly the same idea, it turns out, applied to headphones actually works. Too bad he missed that angle.

And to microphones also.
There is an expensive set of noise-cancelling headphones that will let you stand under a commercial jet engine that is fired up and still be able to converse with the person next to you without screaming.

Three, you will still end up mowing the lawn but now without headphones.
