Gem 'n I. Now I get it!!! Haha!

Well, that took a while...
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Don't worry all the bathrooms here are first come, first served.

Yeah, good luck to us  both. Weight is an issue with me too--I started sprironolactone 6 weeks ago, and it can cause serious weight gain. I spoke to one woman last week who gained 40 pounds her first month on it.

And it's also a diurectic. So I'll be taking your offer on the bathrooms!

What's the Aldactone treating? Don't answer if you are not comfortable. Just curious.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

Seriously. And my husband is a transgender assigned-female-at-birth transman.

I'm  currently working on doing something about my need to drink 2 liters of 80 proof a week. And I need some friends. I went to private Christian school when I was a kid and it as horrible.

Don't know what else to say. I've been an atheist since my teens, when my brain matured with an epistemology more sophisticated than "Goddidit." I'm 38 now. Two kids.

Love you all!

If your drinking causes you to do stupid things like getting physical with others, or drinking and driving, then sorry, it is no longer just a risk to your own health.

I am no fan of some who while will feel sorry for a middle class or rich person with an addiction, when a poor person has the same, they are automatically treated like scum. Addiction affects all classes. Now if you are functional and non violent, then you certainly are entitled to destroy your own body, just like with smoking. But when you risk the safety of others, that goes beyond hurting yourself. Outside that, if you are worried about your health, that is also another reason to stop.

But as far as being trans, that by itself does not entitle anyone to be a dick to you. Other people's baggage does not have to be yours. Do the best you can. Keep your nose clean and be yourself.

Horrible enough to drive anyone to drink, or worse. I'm glad you made it through and landed on our doorstep.

Welcome to the oasis, Gemini. I hope you like it here and I hope it helps having us as friends.

For more friends, I suggest searching Meetup.com for atheist groups near you. Transgender groups and non-religion-based alcoholic support groups too, while you're at it. If you haven't already done all that, of course. I know it's your own business, I'm just a little worried about you.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

It's used in hormone replacement therapy for transgender women, to block testesterone. I don't know if it causes weight gain by itself, but I've heard from a lot of transwomen who took it with estradiol and had a tougher time keeping their weight off than before.

My drinking causes me to tell my children bedtime stories that feature Jesus and God as villains...

Meetup's great--my husband and I went to a transgender meetup a few weeks ago and met some great people. We'll definitely be going back. An atheism meetup is a great idea.

And maybe I'll check out some alcoholic support. I'm on day two without a drink now and it sucks but I'm managing. I'd really like to cut down my drinking to a reasonable level and not end up a teetotaler, but...gotta do what I gotta do.

Might I welcome you to this lovely little corner of the internet by offering my lips to yours.

Although, my breath probably stinks like a brewery after sinking 7 or so pints last night, so maybe just a hug?
