Men and Jockstraps (women also i guess)
May 11, 2016 at 4:15 pm
With the advent of tighty whities how many men wear jockstraps any more? I know I had to buy one for HS sports (had to prove that I bought one) but hardly ever wore it. Know I never took it home and washed it. The bikini briefs I wore seemed to work just fine.
In this age of briefs is a jockstrap still necessary for most men? I understand why college/pros still need to wear cups. What about the average amateur athlete, gym rat or weekend warrior? Was never completely comfortable with my butt hole exposed.
I completely understand straps for entertainment.

Never had one and wouldn't wear one to the gym. I never knew there was actually a point to them until my friend pointed it out. I can't see how much more secure they can be than a fitted pair of boxers, which is what I tend to wear.
I don't find them sexy either and they make even less sense to me wearing them for that purpose. I think they look ridiculous.

I understand that they make JS's for women also. One of the reasons was protection from accidental penetration. I thought that was a chastity belt!

All I know is that some NFL players don't wear them anymore, and I can see what they're packing.
I'd rather not see what they're packing.

I see 'em in porn sometimes, but curiously, they don't do anything for me at all.

I attended a karate school for 26 years. CUPS - - both male and female versions - - were absolutely essential, therefore the guys wore jockstraps. The few who tried to spar without one took a groin kick sooner or later, and were immediate converts. When I first started, they didn't require females to wear a cup, but then I took a direct hit to the groin, and it really hurt. I never sparred without a female cup after that.
Probably the only places where they are really necessary - in a sport where you might get a kick or a punch or an elbow between the legs.

I had to google it. I've never seen one. Then again I don't play sport. I can't understand why the bum has to remain exposed.
