It's a good thing Bernie's fans are mainly white.  If they were black the fucking cops would simply declare a free-fire zone.

Grump is a grade F asshole and I won't be voting for him. However, it won't be the end of the world if (that's a big if) he gets elected, so calm down.

We had a president who committed felonies while he was president and resigned because he knew he was going to be prosecuted yet our republic still stands some 40 years later.

Grump likes everyone to think he will lord over the entire government if (that's a big if) he's president. But that won't happen - the US Constitution wisely prohibits this with checks and balances between the 3 branches of government - the president is only in charge of the executive branch. So the verbal vomit he proposes in his rally speeches won't come to pass - Congress and the judiciary won't allow it.

I rarely talk about politics with my friends unless I know they are on the same side as me. Why lose friendships over a pudgy, incoherent loser like Grump? It's not worth it.

The Chairman of the Fed calls the economic shots, make no mistake about it.

Does it?  "Tottering" might be a better word.

Every head of state letting his mouth run amok, has a certain control. It's called international trust. You probably would consider withdrawing your investments from a corporation or bank where the CEO brags about making debt as if there was no tomorrow. Even more so if that person filed for bankrupcy before. It doesn't need to be the Americann president. It could the chancellor or Micronesia, if they have one. The only difference being that the possible Fallout wouldn't be as large.

Abaris,
I understand your position and it's not without merit. I just think many people, here or abroad, overemphasize the office relative to everyday life and business in the U.S.

If Trump is elected I'm looking forward to Congress immediately scaling back the office's war powers ability; something that should have been done long ago. If Hillary is elected we can count on the fifth straight term of George W. Bush in this regard.

Let's face it. The man was given a Nobel Peace Prize for having done nothing only to escalate drone killings and ensuring that at least a small portion of our military was constantly engaged somewhere. I'm not sure why this translates into trust and respect in many international circles.

He may not be running the Fed or control Congress, but he is commander in chief. That worries me.

He didn't deserve the price then and he doesn't deserve it for his record. The difference to a possible Trump presidency however is rather obvious, at least on the outside. On the one hand a cool headed intellectual, on the other hand a hotheaded primitive, spewing out whatever strikes his fancy, contradicting himself in every second sentence and outright lying over past affiliations and previous statements.

In short, a calculable risk vs a lose cannon. Same goes for Hillary vs Trump. She's certainly not everybody's dream, but calculable.
