Well if Trump is elected it is only a matter of time until the world is a smouldering radioactive wasteland, so there's that.
He is not a politition he is a blustering self important bully who will try this tactic on people with nukes. Or he will have a hissy fit and launch them himself, either way if he gets in the world is doomed.
I wish I was being hyperbolic.

Well let's see... he'll nominate 3, maybe 4 SCOTUS judges. So we may see Roe v Wade overturned, Oberfell v. Hodges overturned, and probably see even more corporate shills on the Supreme Court. We'll build an expensive wall that does absolutely nothing to curtail illegal immigration--especially the criminal elements of it. EPA? Probably gone. He'll push through as much conservative policies as he's able to. And who knows what the fuck freedoms we have left he'd trample on in the name of fighting terrorism. On the upside, whoever the Democratic nominee is in 2020 would win in a landslide.

One man alone can't launch the nukes. Not even in America. It all depends on how suicidal the idiots are he's surrounding himself with. That they are idiots is no longer up for debate. Their names speak for themselves and tell a proud story of ignorance, tinfoilery, corruption and failure.

You know, we already have this discussion in the wake of our own presidential elections. The moderate cadidate just beat the rabid rightwinger and chemtrail conspiracy nut by a hairs breadth.

I never knew what our president actually is allowed to do, according to the constitution. According to that, an ammendment from the year 1929, he's as powerful as the presidents of the Weimar Republic of old, more powerful than the French president, actually. He's not only commander in chief, which doesn't mean much, considering we're a small country with a small and not too well equipped army. But he's also allowed to appoint supreme court judges. The constitution demands that these have to be recommended by the government, but the president has the right to veto these recommendations until there's a candidate to his liking. He's also allowed to dissolve parliament and to fire the government.

The reason I never knew is because none of our presidents actually made use of all his powers. That's why I considered it to be a ceremonial office. But I shudder to think that any radical could hold this office.

Perhaps the "Bern Baby Bern" crowd will listen to Robert Reich?

Quote:Robert Reich: It’s time for Clinton and Sanders supporters to swallow some tough medicine

Quote:Which brings me to those of you who say there’s no real difference between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
That’s just plain wrong. Trump has revealed himself to be a narcissistic, xenophobic, hatemonger who, if elected, would legitimize bigotry, appoint Supreme Court justices with terrible values, and have direct access to the button that could set off a nuclear war.
Hillary may not possess Bernie Sanders’s indignation about the rigging of our economy and democracy, or be willing to go as far in remedying it, but she’s shown herself a capable and responsible leader.
Some of you agree a Trump presidency would be a disaster but claim it would galvanize a forceful progressive movement in response.
That’s unlikely. Rarely if ever in history has a sharp swing to the right moved the political pendulum further back in the opposite direction. Instead, it tends to move the “center” rightward, as did Ronald Reagan’s presidency.

New SCOTUS justice would be right wing. That would suck balls.

If only that were the worst of it.

Quote:http://www.economist.com/blogs/buttonwoo...mic-policy

Quote:SAM CLOVIS, an adviser to Donald Trump, claimed this week that his candidate had a plan including "other factors we are going to propose" that will generate a budget surplus of between $4.5 trillion-7 trillion. That would be remarkable given that the Tax Foundation estimates that his planned tax cuts will reduce revenues by more than $10 trillion or that the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget puts the total cost of his announced plans at $12 trillion. That is because his proposals include big tax cuts (mainly benefiting the wealthy), and the protection of Social Security and Medicare (bar an impossible claim to save $300 billion on drugs spending when Medicare spent $62 billion on drugs last year).

The fact that the greedy SOBs on the Court didn't resign early so that Obama might have replaced them with liberal justices  indicate that it doesn't matter who's on the Court.  They are all Catholics and Jews anyway.  And at the end of the day they screw over the people and do nothing to extend freedom and liberty.

In Revelation chapter 3 it says that it's better to be a complete asshole than to be a fence sitter.  So what good will Hillary be if she won't vigorously push the Dem agenda?
