To circumcise or not to circumcise?

Logic is easy when you have the cognitive dissonance of not wanting to change your mind propelling your confirmation bias, eh?

Please make more sense in the future.

@Maelstrom: a person can change the name their parents gave them. They cannot get their original foreskin back.

IMO, medical procedures which aren't medically necessary, especially when they are permanent, should not be performed without the child's consent.

Yes, you are correct.

I am being ridiculous in allowing someone to choose something for himself.

His argument makes perfect sense. You say circumcision should be performed on infants because it means they don't have to clean their penis as much.

The same argument can be used with teeth. Kids wouldn't have to clean their teeth as much if you just removed them all and replaced them with false ones.

I know you can see the irony in this statement.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

This is my final comment, I will not respond to this thread further.

I personally believe circumcision is beneficial.
I personally believe it is the parent's decision.
I am glad my parents made the choice for me.
I will not take that choice from the parents.
