There was only one fight ever where Hynpo-disc and Razer were in the same arena, and there Hypno-disc stopped working one minute into the fight. I never said that Hypno-disc does more damage than Pussycat by the way, both have a huge track record of kills. Should there be a one-on-one between Pussycat and Hypno-disc, I think the odds are in favour of Pussycat really.

Razer needs to bide its time, when it gets a hold, it goes. Pussycat is more a slice and dice weapon, the stick and jab mover to coin a boxing term. Razer always had huge problems in finding a spot on Pussycat where it couldnt get away due to its odd shape. And after getting hit again and again and again by that blade something on Razer eventually breaks.
How effective a weapon is is hugely dependent on the type of opponent. One weapon can work really well on a certain type or shape of robot, and not be effective at all on another.

Would you say pussycat is more powerful than hypno-disc? In general. Because as you said - and I know its true from online gaming and the like, and its of course pretty damn obvious too - it depends on the opponent.

I really apologize to Puglover for going off topic.
Basically, they are both different shapes, but internally they both have the exact same motors and batteries. So in terms of power electrically there is no difference between the two. The main difference is however that the one has a blade for a weapon, the other a spinning ring. The blade works like a circular saw, it slices in the opponent. The other spins up, collecting kinetic energy on every rotation, and on impact releasing all that energy at once.
In terms of power it is very hard to say which has the better option. Fact is, in the current level of robots neither Pussycat nor Hypno-disc would do much damage anymore. Right now, the most destructive bots are machines like Last Rites and Schrederator.

I didn't know Robot Wars was still going. I never see it on TV anymore. And if I ever do they seem to be repeats of old series.

Robot Wars is not being filmed anymore, but that does not mean we stopped competing. We still have loads of competitions in the UK, US, and Holland, Belgium, and Germany as well though not as many as the UK. For us the TV was a nice bonus, but we didn't do it for the TV series, we did it because we want to compete and possibly win.

Cool. Did Robot wars start before it was on TV? And if so, how long before?
If I could make robots and could afford to - I'd love to.

Robotwars started 2 years before the first tv series as Robotwars in the US. Then the tv company Mentorn bought the format and licensed it to the BBC, and later to Five TV. In the US, Robotwars was redubbed Battlebots. Later on there was also Robotica, which the Discovery channel also used to broadcast.
