Because it's an online forum, where we start as anonymous users (though, we are all namefags here), and then people get all personal... and then people get themselves hurt, and then they say mean mean things about each other but try to hide it under 'this faceless person who I will describe in fifteen ways is a total NEERRRD!' and then we have to deal with the tears. 

Or, someone does. It's silly, but I would have to lie to say it don't annoy me. Degrees of connection, and dumb people. No way to save them, unfortunately... not without restricting the good free nature of the internet overmuch.
