Why is a tosser a tosser?

Same here. I find it really empowering. It's a great word to vocalise with the nt at the end. Great with an English or Scottish accent.

It really is. I think a lot of English curses sound great, especially in British accents. They're short, harsh words and they sound even harsher with how quick and sharp British people pronounce them.

American "shidd!" doesn't quite have the same impact as British "shITT!!"

I always liked shite better. Maybe because it sounds more like our word for it.

But I get your drift about the accents. There's nothing more enjoyble vulgar as some native really going on a cursing spree.

The only thing I've seen comparable to that are the Bavarians. Seeing a Bavarian in full on rant mode is a beautiful sight. German's fun. I think of it like a fighting language. I enjoy trying to emulate a Bavarian rant but my German isn't good enough by a long shot to do it justice, yet alone being able to speak Bayerisch. I remember one morning before work looking out the window as the big busty blonde neighbour was ranting at the work men who were feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

Scheisse? Yeah they're pretty similar Smile Both sound great

I think "shite" it sounds particularly good in a Liverpool accent because of how they make "I" sounds like "aaaii"

"Bollocks" is probably my favourite British curse though

The Irish are also pretty charming in saying it. Or the Manchester region. That's gordy, isn't it?
