I think my favourite, and one that kind of passes for both an insult and term of endearment, is numpty

It's one of those weird kind of insults, accusing someone of doing something almost everyone does.

"You fucking scratcher!"

I suppose the implication is that their life has no further meaning than the tossing.

I have to admit, I do like the c-word. I have to be careful who I use it around though, since it's still such a taboo word here in England.

I don't use it as a term of endearment myself, but a lot of people do. I love using it as an insult personally. Fuck what others think is taboo.

Cunt and the middle finger combined is often the best.
