Is there any reliable online tests that are free?

Yes, but they're useless.

In Korea, Mensa offers free tests a couple of times a year for entrance/memebership; I'm not sure if they do they same where you live.  You should contact Mensa if you're interested in learning about your IQ-- anything online will be dodgy-- most likely they'll make you do a test and then tell you you have to register (i.e. pay) to get the results sent to you.

Correction - it's more like 90%+ who are <120.

Let me say this to those of us above 120 or even 140.  Mensa accepts the top 2% of IQ scores, which I believe is about 140 and up.  Sounds pretty elite, right?  But no, not really, because there are about 7,000,000,000 people in the world.  That means there are 140,000,000 in the world at least as smart as you.  That's a lot of cleverclogs!

Pretty sure 130 is the 98th percentile. 145 is 99.9% IIRC.

This chart has  you as right: http://www.iqcomparisonsite.com/iqtable.aspx

However, Mensa apparently has different cutlines for different tests, ranging from 132 up to 148.

Interestingly, the little jump up to 135 breaks into the top percentile.  My highschool IQ of 147 I think is probably bullshit-- I'm not in the top 1/1000 I'm pretty sure.  I suspect foul play-- a teacher trying to establish a "gifted" class or something like that. Smile

I did try out for Mensa last year, and didn't get in-- the entrance test in Korea has nothing but visual logic puzzles-- TIMED visual logic puzzles.  Fuck my life.  I'll have to find someone to do a more comprehensive test if I'm going to have any chance of getting what I've always dreamed of-- a little plastic card that proves I'm better than almost everyone I meet!

If you ask around on the internet, every other person has like 140, it's ridiculous.

From what I remember (ages since I took my test), there is one than one scale too. Or at least there was.

I also often wonder if she isn't a tad aspie. Super smart, not good a social stuff. Her teacher told me she's like a middle aged woman trapped in a child's body.

Just beware, don't excessively tell her she's smart and gifted, instead tell her how hard she's worked. Otherwise she'll get a fixed mindset i.e she'll believe one can't improve, one is limited by genetics which is detrimental, kills grit and motivation. With a fixed mindset if she's bad at something she'll probably leave it alone instead of trying to improve and get good at it.

I've never been tested, but don't worry. I'm pretty sure it's low.  Big Grin

On the other hand, this thread gives me the female equivalent of a hard on. It's like my Disneyland, or bunny house. Can I live here?

Thank you and good day
