Which would be...erm...let's see.  Number of Chuck Norris films divided by the number of skulls on a given gun...*mutter*...cosecant of the muzzle velocity times the cheesiness of the beard...*mumble mumble*...carry the two...

Gives us the value of 'Too many Chuck Norris movies' as

One's enough to damage some brains permanently. But when you consider that people like my cousins can recite dialog from most of the movies and have actually tried to power out of a grave in an old Chevy Blazer the magnitude of the problem becomes clearer.

Yeah, guns aren't toys. You don't have a constitutional right to own a toy.

Yet for some reason we sell a constitutional right...

People aren't allowed to steal toys from you.  If the do, they get in trouble if caught.  The 4th Amendment protects you from unlawful searches and seizures, and that includes the toys you own.  So, without probable cause for the police to take your toy, said toy, and your ownership of it, is constitutionally protected.

As for selling constitutional rights, well, that's a matter of convenience we are paying for.  We could make firearms in our garages, but it would be a pain in the ass.  It would also be expensive if you didn't already have a lathe and mill.  Materials would also be a bit expensive, as you want the good stuff to prevent failures during firing.  So, the price we pay for firearms really is a pretty good deal, and convenient. Smile

But isn't denying me a gun if I can't afford one in violation of my second amendment rights? I don't have to pay for freedom of expression. I don't have to pay to have a belief system. I don't have to pay for due process. And I don't have to pay to be protected from unlawful searches. Why should I have to pay for a gun?

Nope, you can't deprive another person of their property (the gun you can't afford). You -do- pay for all of those rights, that's what all those taxes are for, lol. Aint nothin free up in this peice... cept airborne, a course. Wink

I don't remember the constitution telling me I have the right to wear boots, though.
