Because it feels like things like older video games, network television, registration pages, technology in general, and the YouTube bot were all made by OCD people.

Am I going crazy?

Because the television industry - like the film industry - is years behind the rest of the world. Streaming will inevitably replace it in time. Putting traditional TV on life support won't help save it.

I think I'd rather watch Days of our Lives than listen to another coma inducing sermon.
